A recent analysis has recommended that paper trays coated with silver nano-particles ar capable of extending the shelf-life of eggs by a minimum of upto period.
The analysis conducted by Associate in Nursing Indian person any mentions that this development is supposed to assist eggs keep in village farms to remain for extended periods and be sold while not compromising on quality.
“It may be a concoction made from silver, gelatin and chitosan and you may either paint the paper trays or spray them. you’ll store the eggs once the spray dries,” Gopal Dhinakar rule of the state Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) in Chennai, told IANS.
Published in June, the study points out the “strong antimicrobial activity of the silver nanoparticles doped trays against ordinarily found microorganism on egg shells”.
The reduced surface contamination raises the shelf-life from fourteen to thirty days, he said.
“The value of application on a six-egg paper receptacle is around Rs 4-5, with a shelf-life of 9 months, which may be recycled,” he said.
Though simple to arrange, it will solely be applied to paper trays and not plastic trays, Raj said.
